The environment
One of Nestlé’s guiding principles is to procure and manufacture
local products in a manner that ensures sustainable development
This covers the entire cycle from primary produce, packaging materials, storage, manufacture, marketing and distribution to waste disposal. The effect of the business on the environment with respect to effluents, use of water, creation of waste and use of packaging material is planned and monitored meticulously.
External and internal guidelines
The introduction of Nestlé’s environmental management system (NEMS) enables us to give a positive direction to our environmental work in both a structured and goal-oriented manner. Our environmental work is an integrated part of daily work with clear and tangible guidelines. Nestlé complies strictly with the environmental legislation and also takes its own initiative with the purpose of conducting long-term, sustainable development.
Nestlé supports the declaration of the International Chamber of Commerce to show consideration for the environment in all areas of its business operations.
